Willow bark | what is it?

Willow bark extract has an anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and toning effect on the scalp. Willows love damp locations, and are found on the banks of streams and rivers in Europe, Asia and North America.

Willow bark

There are about 450 different types of willow. Its natural area of distribution ranges from all parts of the northern temperate region to the Arctic. This supple tree, which can reach a height of 30 meters, prefers predominantly damp ground and flourishes in water courses, ditches and on wetlands.

Since ancient times healers have used willow for its anti-inflammatory properties. The cosmetic industry effectively uses this medicinal plant to treat flaking, itchy scalps, because willow bark soothes irritated skin.

RAUSCH has developed Willow Bark TREATMENT SHAMPOO, Willow Bark TREATMENT CONDITIONER and Willow Bark TREATMENT SPRAY to treat oily flakes, itchiness and redness. The RAUSCH willow bark extract produced using their own gentle in-house processes doesn’t just alleviate the onerous side-effects of oily flakes. When combined with coconut oil and thyme extract it also sustainably strengthens and conditions the scalp.
